Building Europe’s Circular
Bioeconomy Together

The European Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance (EBCA) unites leading innovation clusters to drive the transition to a sustainable, regenerative, and circular bioeconomy across Europe.

About EBCA

The European Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance (EBCA) is a collaborative initiative that brings together leading national and regional bioeconomy clusters to accelerate the development of a sustainable, regenerative, and circular bioeconomy across Europe. Formally established in 2025, EBCA fosters cross-sector collaboration to strengthen the European circular bioeconomy and support the sustainable use of land and sea resources.

Through our alliance, we facilitate the transfer of knowledge between research, industry, and policy, helping to bridge the gap between innovation and implementation. We aim to enable easier access to funding opportunities, promote project development at both regional and European levels, and empower local ecosystems to thrive through shared learning and strategic cooperation.

EBCA is more than a network, it is a coordinated force that helps bioeconomy actors scale ideas, generate impact, and shape the future of sustainable European growth.

our members

EBCA gathers 14+ pioneering clusters from across Europe, each contributing unique expertise, ecosystems, and strengths. Together, we form a powerful alliance supporting regional growth, innovation, and resilience through the bioeconomy.

our vision

At EBCA, we envision a Europe where bio-based innovation drives the transition to a resilient, competitive, and sustainable economy. Our alliance is rooted in the belief that regenerative and circular practices are essential to tackling climate change, boosting regional development, and transforming how we produce and consume.

We are committed to accelerating innovation in bioproducts, biorefineries, and sustainable technologies, while supporting the creation of robust infrastructure and funding mechanisms that enable these solutions to scale. As part of our mission, we work to foster harmonized European frameworks that simplify market access for sustainable products, ensuring that bio-based solutions can compete fairly and efficiently.

By strengthening collaboration with international research and policy networks, sharing best practices, and supporting the development of joint projects, we help shape a more connected and impactful European bioeconomy. EBCA also actively advocates for policy change and circular transition, making sure our collective voice contributes to a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
